Virginia Sue Sandin

Virginia “Ginger” Sue Sandin, 81, passed away on February 7, 2022 in Colorado after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Ginger was born on March 6, 1940 in Duluth, Minnesota to Robert and Bette Sandin. In 1958 she graduated from Anoka High School and spent the following years exploring Minnesota and raising her family primarily in Mankato and Hastings. In 1983 she moved to Mesa, Arizona and in 1988 she moved to Fall River Massachusetts returning to Arizona in 1996. Ginger loved spending time with her family and friends and was a very active member of her community. She loved to entertain and she was an excellent cook, her famous lasagna and potato salad were always big hits. Her hobbies included ceramics, sewing, knitting, playing golf and playing bridge. She also had a great love for all animals, especially dogs. She loved to travel and even spent a few years working as a Cruise Coordinator for her community. Ginger was a woman of many talents. Throughout her career she worked as a realtor, mortgage banker, medical assistant and activity coordinator. She also spent some time remodeling and decorating houses. In 1998, Ginger received a heart transplant at the age of 58. She recovered well from the procedure and was blessed to have another 23 years with her family and friends. Ginger is survived by her children Susan and Mark, grandchildren Sarah, Jared, Mason and Mallory, great granddaughter Emma, her sisters Karla and Lauren, and her beloved Aunt Mary. Loved and missed by many 💕 The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or becoming an organ donor.
