Loveland, Colorado – Patricia Ann “Pat” Snyder (nee Nierman), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin peacefully passed to her heavenly home on July 11, 2022. Pat, 78, was born on March 15, 1944, in Holyoke, CO to Fritz and Anna Nierman (nee Brunken). She attended Holyoke public schools from elementary through high school, where she was an honor student, a band and chorus member, and involved in student government. Pat graduated from Holyoke High School in May of 1962. She continued her education at Colorado State College (now the University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley where she graduated in December of 1965 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Pat married the love of her life and soul mate, Phillip “Phil” Snyder, on August 22, 1965. Friends since the 4th grade, Pat and Phil’s romance blossomed in their sophomore year of college during a road trip to deliver cars to Lubbock, TX in which they sang country music songs and talked the entire way. Their nearly 57-year marriage was one for the ages, filled with love, laughter, and even the occasional dance. They shared many adventures together, including raising a family, coaching, watching sports, traveling the world, fishing, and playing cards with friends. They may have moved more than most families – at least 16 times – between Holyoke, Greeley, Hemingford, Julesburg, Grand Junction, Denver, Albuquerque, back to Denver again, and finally Loveland, but along the way, they made lifelong bonds with friends who became more like family. Pat’s smile lit up a room when she laughed, which she loved to do, and her friends often share memories of the good times they had. Pat’s loving and kind-hearted spirit lives on through her husband, Phil; her two children, son Christopher Snyder and daughter Rebecca Lavezzary (George); three grandchildren, Isabella Snyder, George “GP” Lavezzary, and Nora Lavezzary; her brother, Rick Nierman (Kathy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alvin Nierman (Terry); and sister, Mary Ellen Dickson (Jim). Pat devoted her life to serving people by encouraging and guiding them to find a higher level of success, first as a schoolteacher for 16 years and then as a certified financial planner for Waddell & Reed, where she worked for 27 years. She touched many lives as an educator, financial planner, life coach, mentor, confidant, and friend; she led by example, treating all people with love and respect, a trait for which she was much beloved. Above all, Pat loved The Lord and knew Jesus Christ as her Savior. She engaged in daily bible study, sang traditional hymns by heart, and practiced her strong religious foundation during her interactions with others by sharing her faith in God at every opportunity. Pat found great joy in promoting the Holy Spirit in others that they may know The Lord in their lives, as well. For everything Pat was to others, she was even more to her family; she was truly the loving thread who bound them all together. Pat never shone more brightly than when she was with her grandchildren, and her lasting legacy will live on through them. She loved nothing more than to sit down for a deep talk with her grandchildren, followed by a rousing board game or cards; it will be the comfort of those shared moments that will be missed the most. While it is so difficult to imagine a world without Pat's love and compassion for others, she surely expects us to carry on in her way of making everything in life more beautiful. She will be missed by many, but Heaven gained a very special angel. Pat's final resting place will be in Holyoke, CO, where a service is scheduled at the cemetery on Saturday, July 16 at 10 am, followed by a reception at the Holyoke Senior Citizen Center.
